File archive for Cube 2: Sauerbraten

About:

Cube 2: Sauerbraten is an outstanding first-person arena shooter from 2003 with a rather capable engine and a unique powerful in-game map editor, which makes it very easy to create content for. If you are browsing this archive, you likely know about this game and play it frequently but if you came here from other parts of the internet and have no prior knowledge of this game, you ABSOLUTELY need to go play it NOW. It's open-source freeware that you can download on linux, mac, and windows. There is also a browser port that functions on mobile devices. There is absolutely no excuse for not getting this game. The game itself is mainly a Quake knockoff-ish deal but is heavily modifiable and you can use it for a hell of a lot more.

Why does this page exist?

Spanning almost this game's entire lifetime, there has been one main source for getting all the plethora of custom content from, which also hosted most forums related to the game and it's predecessor Cube. This website was quadropolis.us. However, sadly, the site was shut down this year after being on life support. With barely any prior warning, 90% of all community content for the Cube franchise was gone, save for the two mods uploaded on the dead gamebanana and ModDB pages. These files are still accesible but a nightmare to access due to the shaky archival through the wayback machine. This page attempts to catalouge and save as many old lost-to-time mods as possible and make them easier to access. Of course, through the archiving process I have discovered some mods that do appear to be, unfortunately, gone forever. Due to the esoteric nature of this game franchise very few quadropolis archives even exist. There are still some other mod sites, but none of them were as gargantuan as quadropolis. Rest In Peace.
